Since we bought the Florida house in 2022, I’ve been meaning to paint the front door, but it took me two years to finally get around to doing it. I was inspired by the door images I kept in a Pinterest file, I found myself turning time and again to the color sea green. Our single story house is white, so sea green seemed the perfect choice for my mid century meets coastal style. I didn’t want my door to be too minty or aqua, just a nice blend of the two, between a mid tone and pale green with a hint of blue.
Finding the perfect shade of sea green for my home’s front door and shutters took some time, I gathered several dozen samples and narrowed it down to a few favorites (see below). After I bought a few samples and tried them out I settled on the perfect shade. I’ll share that door makeover on Thursday, meanwhile here’s a look at my inspiration files. Some of these doors lean a little more aquamarine or mint but they’re all so beautiful.
Below are the sea green paint colors I considered:
Come back Thursday when I’ll share the final choice and my front door glow up!
This is perfect timing. My single story house has a red brick front with white shutters. When I moved in 6 years ago I had the front door painted a nice sunny yellow.
It has faded some over time and I am ready for a new color. I am leaning toward a Seaglass type color one day and then more aqua the next. Looking forward to see what you chose.
This is a really gorgeous colour! It suits the house perfectly.
Thank you I agree!
